In June 2021, Milena fell 3 times on her bike, but no one took into account that it was something wrong, she just accidentally fell over and damaged her arm and leg, unfortunately her condition deteriorated and she ended on June 10, 2021. to the hospital in Chojnice for neurology with paresis, impaired sensation on the right side, balance disorders and speech disorders.
A CT scan of the head was performed, it turned out that the lesion was most likely a tumor, the next day the head MRI was performed and the diagnosis was low grade astrocytoma, which is simply glioblastoma. Due to the location of the lesion, because it is the cerebellum, the doctors concluded that it was a non-operative lesion and that nothing could be done.
Nevertheless, we decided to look further and consult the case of Milena with other doctors.
Some were of the opinion that it was a glioblastoma, others that it was something else, but no one was able to clearly define what the change was. After about a month, she had another MRI, this time an angio, and it turned out that the lesion was a cavernous hemangioma that had bleeding. Unfortunately, the doctors with whom we consulted claim that this is a change for observation, as any surgical intervention may worsen her neurological condition. We are to wait until the next bleeding episode when the condition worsens or the surgery is simply life-saving. Milena has always been an active person, now she uses a ball, and if there is a longer distance to be covered, she is in a wheelchair. He cannot come to terms with this disability (there is still right-sided paresis, balance disorders, impaired sensation of the right side, speech problems)
Milena has a 4-year-old son who requires attention, wants to play with his mother, play football, unfortunately it is impossible at the moment. Rehabilitation is also a problem, because it is very expensive, while the one at the National Health Fund is not enough and there are distant deadlines for its implementation.
