JULKA FIGHTS AGAINST CANCER – NEUROBLASTOMA
Julia was diagnosed with cancer at 10 weeks of age, stage IV neuroblastoma with metastases to the liver, bone marrow and other organs. We couldn’t believe it. Diagnosis – cancer?! Cancer in a newly born baby? Is it possible? At such a stressful situation the words don’t reach you, you don’t understand what doctors are talking to you. We started treatment. Despite the lack of certain diagnosis and histopathological results, Julia was given chemotherapy because the tumor was so huge that it threatened our daughter’s life.
The first chemotherapy saved her life, while the tumor was growing very fast and it had to be stopped immediately and his pressure on the blood vessels he was constricting. The next chemotherapy was to shrink the tumor and lead to surgery, because only getting rid of the tumor (so-called resection) allows us to think about recovery, although it is still a very long way to recover. We have already been refused surgery in Poland twice. We still have months of treatment and medical checkouts ahead of us. Polish doctors tell us that in Germany the doctors use the therapy of the future, but it is difficult for us to understand why the therapies used in Germany are therapies of the future for our medicine.
There is a lifetime ahead of Julia and we want her to be treated with the best possible methods that give the best results, so we strive for the best treatment that costs money. Unfortunately we need to raise money for treatment that will allow Julia to live and start a family in the future. We hope that one day we will be able to repay you and thank you for your help. We are more than sure that good returns!

Julia is after a surgical procedure. Unfortunately, before the surgical procedure the surgeon told us that it is not possible to make a miracle but he did his best to help Julia. We are very grateful for that. Surgical procedurę went without complication but it wasn’t a success. The surgeon did not remove all of the tumor. The resection was only partial. Tumor samples were taken for research. The tumor is still in the abdomen and still is around important blood vessels.
What next?
We are going to have another research and consultation with doctors and oncologists. We are doing our best for Julia to be under control of the best doctors in Poland and in Germany.
